Why am I telling you all of this? Well, with respect to marketing, Orlando is not your average city. We are very tourist heavy on one side and Local Business heavy on the other. It’s unique in the sense that you can literally draw a dividing line between both sides. Here, you need to keep your marketing compartmentalized. Know your target market and let your marketing focus geo-target accordingly. Most of your local business will be driven from the Central and east side of town. Personally, I feel John Young Parkway can be considered the prime meridian.

We're going to select our liveblogger & livetweeter via a contest, just to make the process more fun. I will keep your suggestion in mind however, as I bet we'll have no problem finding someone to livetweet. Finding a liveblogger may be a little harder. :)

We round up conference slides when we can (we just finished doing the InControl Conference in Cincinnati). Not all speakers are forthcoming on this issue, for a variety of reasons. We will post links to the presentations if/when they are available!

Sounds good! The <head> conference was amazing last year. With parallel tracks I had a hard time deciding which session to attend. I can't imagine the amount of work it took to organize the event with so many presenters around the world.

If you're looking for someone to live blog, I can check with a colleague who live-blogged at our Internet User Experience conference in the spring. I tweeted the conference sessions and managed our give-aways with questions on Twitter.

Hi Deborah!

We are still in negotiations with our service provider, so I can't name the company just yet. Let's just say the CSS Summit online delivery will be very similar (if not exactly the same) as the <head> conference last year.

I attended <head> last fall, and my partner, Christopher Schmitt (@teleject on twitter) was a presenter. We both picked up on the difficulty speakers had in monitoring the conversation while presenting, so we plan to have a moderator to answer small questions on the fly and gather up the "big" questions for presenters to answer at the end of their presentations. Managing the technical issues will fall to someone else as well.

Making the chat available is a good idea, we will definitely look into it. I also want to pull in at least one liveblogger to blog and/or tweet the conference in real time.

Hi Ari,

Will the CSS Summit be similar to the online <head> conference that was held last October? Will Adobe Connect be used to manage the presentations?

I attended <head> last fall, and loved the format! Adobe Connect made it easy to interact with the speakers and meet others through the chat facility. What really helped was to:

1. have someone monitor the chat, to pass on questions to the speaker, It's hard for a speaker to present, and manage chat at the same time.
2. have someone available to manage technical issues the speaker/audience might have

If Adobe Connect is used for the conference, can you consider making the chat for the presentations available to the conference attendees? I realize there's a lot of work involved with creating a video, but having a copy of the chat is really helpful.

If not a video, have you considered making podcasts available?
